Does eating late at night make you gain weight and is it bad for weight loss?
This is a frequently asked question about weight gain and fat loss.
There are many people accept that eating after 8 pm makes a person gain weight easily, though eating time has nothing to do with weight gain(this has been proven by many researches). No matter what time of day you eat, there is no difference.
The simple rule of weight gain is you take in more calories than what you need, then the excess calories you consume stored as fat in your body. So you gain weight.
The reason why people get fat easier when eating before bedtime is:
they do not need that eating, it is just a bad eating habits.
Most people eat 3 meals a day, and the total calorie intake is enough for whole day resting and physical activity. If a person eat some extra snacks before sleeping, he eat more than what he need. And while sleeping, the body burn less calories because of little physical activity. So more excess calories will be stored. Then he become fat easier.
But the rule here is still people consume more calories than they burn.
