What is a healthy amount of weight to lose each week?

What do you think is a healthy amount of weight I can lose in a week? I want to cut calories from my diet to lose 55 lbs, I am wondering how long it will take to healthily lose this decent amount of weight?

    Recommended healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs each week. If you are extremely obese, then you may lose more, losing 5 – 10 lbs a week is possible.
