The fact is exercises DO NOT target fat on any area.
Those who tell you that doing side exercises will make you lose fat on your sides are misleading you. You can do side exercises, but the effect is small. They tone your sides, but not for burning a lot of hips fat and love handles.
You can lay down on your right side, then lift your left leg, 30-50 reps, then on your left sides, lift your right leg, 30-50 reps. Do this for 3-4 sets.
You’d better do cardiovascular exercises to burn side fat, such as jogging and biking. 1 hour a day.
