Is It Possible to Shed Stomach Fat by Doing Stomach Workouts?

Friday, April 10th, 2009

Doing stomach work outs like sit-ups alone can hardly hlep you shed fat on stomach. People think that they can shed fat from certain spot of their body, but it is impossible to remove fat from a specific area by doing specific work outs. e.g. if you want to shed fat from your fat stomach, doing ab workouts alone can not help you lose your big tummy; you can not spot remove your leg fat by doing leg exercise only; your arm fat can not be reduced by only doing arm work outs…
But specific exercises do help you enhance the muscles on those specific areas. And this increase the muscle’s proportion on those area, so it makes you look tighter, in other words, you do not look that flabby like before. So, doing stomach workout can tighten your stomach, but has little effect on belly fat loss, your tummy fat are still there. You need to do whole body exercise to reduce stomach fat. When it comes to reducing fat, whole body work out is always your best bet.
You can choose jogging, skipping rope, brisk walking, biking, swimming, etc.
And you’d better pick 2 or more exercises. Because you may get bored by doing only one kind of exercising for a long time. It is important to make yourself be interested in doing workouts and keep on exercise about 3-5 times per week, more than 30 minutes each time will be fine.
And do not forget to have a healthy balanced diet.
Good luck.

How can I remove that stubborn tummy fat?

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

I do exercises everyday, and it work, I have lost much body fat now, but my tummy is still the same size as before. I’d like to know how to lose belly inches?

——-

I think you should keep doing whole body workout and tummy exercises to lose the stubborn tummy fat.
I don’t know what kind of job you do, do you work in your office for a long time daily, do you sit before the computer for a long time? If yes, be sure to hold your belly, don’t hunched down in your seat.
About exercises.
“In actuality, fat is burned from body areas in genetically pre-determined patterns that have no relationship to the muscles being exercised. For men, lower back fat is generally the last to be burned; for women, it is generally the thighs and buttocks.”
And the belly fat is also one of the lastest to lose. You have to do whole body exercises to lose inches of belly fat gradually. Jogging, Yoga, biking, and of course belly exercise, such as sit up. Though stomach workouts cannot direct spot reduction tummy fat, it is good to tone up and tighten the muscle of belly.
Something about diet.
Eat small portions, but don’t starve yourself. And don’t overeat.
Eat vegetables, fruits, and low fat foods.
Don’t eat before you go to sleep. The metabolism is slow while you are sleeping, it’s easy to store fat.
